Grupa Azoty and Cracow University of Technology to Collaborate in Education and Scientific-Technical Work

Grupa Azoty and the Faculty of Environmental and Power Engineering at Cracow University of Technology have signed a framework cooperation agreement. This partnership aims to establish a long-term collaboration in scientific and technical work and education, particularly in fields related to sustainable development.

The agreement facilitates cooperation in scientific and technical areas, including the participation of university specialists in projects carried out by Grupa Azoty and the conducting of research and expertise by university staff for the company. The parties are considering joint participation in consortia for research projects funded by national and international sources. The agreement also paves the way for collaborative patronage over study programs related to sustainable development and the organization of joint training and internships for university students at Grupa Azoty.

"Research and development are critical areas in Grupa Azoty's strategy. Responding to industry expectations and the challenges facing the chemical industry, we have signed an agreement with a renowned institution for engineering education, Cracow University of Technology. At Grupa Azoty, we place great emphasis on sustainable technologies that enable optimization and reduction of power consumption. Therefore, we are particularly interested in collaboration focused on sustainable development. I am convinced that this is one of the most important fields of study for the development of the national industry and the challenges facing the entire European chemical sector," said Zbigniew Paprocki, Member of the Management Board and General Director of Grupa Azoty S.A.

“The Faculty of Environmental and Power Engineering at Cracow University of Technology consistently develops its research and teaching activities to comprehensively address market challenges, including urbanization and metropolization. These efforts are currently focused on shaping and implementing the SMART concept, which skillfully combines intelligent solutions for city and regional infrastructure management with improving the quality of spaces and living standards while rationally using natural resources and adhering to sustainable development principles. Collaboration between the Faculty and the economic environment, especially with strategically important entities like Grupa Azoty, is crucial for the advancement of science, commercialization of research results, and aligning education programs with current market demands,” said Dr. Piotr Beńko, Professor at Cracow University of Technology and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Environmental and Power Engineering.

Cracow University of Technology, named after Tadeusz Kościuszko, boasts nearly 80 years of tradition in training engineering and technical professionals in Poland. It is recognized in the international scientific community for its research and educational activities in the exact sciences, offering over 30 engineering and master's degree programs.
