Grupa Azoty and Łukasiewicz Research Network working together to develop Polish catalysts

Grupa Azoty S.A. and the Łukasiewicz Research Network – New Chemical Syntheses Institute have signed a letter of intent confirming further reinforcement of their long-standing cooperation in catalyst development. The cooperation will be developed by leveraging the parties’ experience, knowledge and know-how. The letter was signed during this year’s Conference of Polish Catalyst Manufacturers and Users.

The signatories declared that they would continue their scientific, research and implementation work, taking into account the specific nature of catalysts as well as their commercial and scientific potential, and that they would search for and develop new catalyst manufacturing technologies.

‘The letter of intent we have signed confirms that we are aware of the immense business potential of catalysts. Our cooperation so far with the Łukasiewicz Research Network has allowed us to build a broad portfolio of Polish catalysts, attracting an increasing number of customers. I have no doubt that more projects are ahead of us, adding to our joint product range,’ said Grzegorz Kądzielawski, Vice President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A., who, together with Management Board Member Zbigniew Paprocki, signed the letter of intent on behalf of the Company.

In line with the letter, Grupa Azoty S.A. and the Łukasiewicz Research Network – New Chemical Syntheses Institute will also step up their promotional, marketing and sales activities. The parties will continue to share information and experience in the field of catalysts.

‘This letter of intent stresses the importance of taking our long-standing cooperation in catalyst development to a new level. We hope that it will help us launch new joint scientific and research projects, develop and implement new catalyst manufacturing technologies, and facilitate running joint promotional and sales activities,’ said Janusz Igras, Head of the Łukasiewicz Research Network – New Chemical Syntheses Institute.

The Conference of Polish Catalyst Manufacturers and Users, during which the letter of intent was signed, is a joint initiative of Grupa Azoty S.A. and the New Chemical Syntheses Institute, launched several decades ago. Today, the annual event is one of the most looked forward to by fertilizer industry leaders.

The main reason behind meetings held as part of the conference is to present a portfolio of Polish catalysts. The conference also serves as a platform for engineers to share experience in the ammonia, nitric acid and fertilizer production technologies.
