Grupa Azoty expands its range of specialized liquid fertilizers

Grupa Azoty is expanding its portfolio with another specialized liquid fertilizer. The new product – RSMS BioShot N(S) 26-3 (7.5 SO₃) – is a urea-ammonium nitrate (UAN) solution enriched not only with sulfur but also with sugars essential for beneficial soil microorganisms.

In recent months, Grupa Azoty has introduced numerous new fertilizer products to the market. In 2025 alone, these have included: Polifoska Multi S and Multi B, Folires, MultiCorn, Nitroguard, and Vitaplon.

‘The new liquid fertilizer in our offer has broad application – both for pre-sowing and top dressing of all crops: winter and spring cereals, winter oilseed rape, maize, sugar beet, potatoes, legumes, grasslands, as well as vegetable and orchard crops, explains Joanna Ryba, Head of the Marketing Office at Grupa Azoty. ‘Importantly, it can be applied at various times of the year and during different plant growth stages. It effectively supports the mineralization of crop residues. It is also dedicated to crops with a high sulfur demand and to soils with low sulfur content, providing fast and long-lasting effects.

RSMS BioShot contains, in optimal proportions, three forms of nitrogen to ensure more effective action: nitrate (6.2%), ammonium (7.6%), and amide (12.2%). Compared to the existing RSMS 26-3 product, RSMS BioShot has a higher share of nitrate and ammonium forms and a lower share of the amide form. This selection and balance of nitrogen forms ensures that plants have access to nitrogen throughout the growing season.

The sulfur in the fertilizer improves the utilization of nitrogen and other nutrients, positively affects crop yield and quality, and enhances plant resistance to stress conditions. In RSMS BioShot, sulfur comes from ammonium thiosulfate (ATS). The use of ATS provides plants with sulfur for the entire growing season, not just shortly after application. Additional advantages include inhibition of urea breakdown and delayed conversion of ammonium nitrogen to nitrate nitrogen, enabling plants to benefit from nitrogen for a longer period. In France, ATS is officially recognized as a urease and nitrification inhibitor. It has also been successfully used for years overseas, where numerous studies confirm ATS’s positive impact on the availability and uptake of phosphorus (P), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), zinc (Zn), and boron (B) by crops. ATS can also reduce gaseous nitrogen losses by up to 50%.

Another important ingredient in RSMS BioShot is sucrose. Its application enriches the soil with organic carbon, supporting the development and activity of soil fauna and microbiomes. By increasing soil moisture and improving water retention, plants have easier access to essential nutrients. Sugars also benefit soil structure, improving porosity, aeration, and overall quality. Sucrose significantly supports root development, plant growth, and resilience to environmental stresses.

One of RSMS BioShot’s key features is its low crystallization temperature of -20°C. This allows for effective use in lower temperatures and ensures trouble-free winter storage, eliminating early spring application problems. With a density of 1.29 kg/dm³, the new fertilizer offers the safe application of nitrogen and sulfur in a single pass. Its liquid form ensures even and precise application, as well as immediate nutrient availability to the root system via the soil solution.
