Grupa Azoty Group on the Peaks
The Grupa Azoty Group employees participating in the Grupa Azoty Group on the Peaks Mountain Relay Race plan to climb the highest peaks of twenty-seven mountain ranges. The project has been initiated by Grupa Azoty Police employees, but enthusiasts of mountain running from Tarnów, Puławy and Kędzierzyn-Koźle will also take part. The relay race will be held as part of the Chemist’s Day celebrations at the Grupa Azoty Group. It is scheduled to start on June 3rd in Świeradów-Zdrój.

The Grupa Azoty Group on the Peaks Mountain Relay Race is a unique and ambitious project undertaken by the Group’s employees. They will run a 1,800 km long route leading along the main trails covering 27 mountain ranges in Poland and their highest peaks. The relay teams will comprise employees of Grupa Azoty S.A., Grupa Azoty Puławy, Grupa Azoty Kędzierzyn, Grupa Azoty Police, Grupa Azoty Koltar, Grupa Azoty Automatyka and Grupa Azoty Police Serwis, with one woman among the runners. Eighteen runners intend to complete the race in 12 days.

Apart from its obvious goals of promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles and overcoming limitations, the event also aims to highlight the process of integration of the Grupa Azoty Group member companies from the human relations perspective.

“An organisation’s strength lies in its employees’ ability to collaborate regardless of the circumstances. I am convinced that the power of team spirit we will witness during the race will help to successfully deliver the ambitious plan to climb the highest peaks of 27 mountain ranges under the Grupa Azoty logo. I keep my fingers crossed for the runners, and I will see you on the 15th of June in Tarnów,’ said Dr Wojciech Wardacki, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty.

‘I love running and I love mountains. They are my two passions. I am glad I can work for a company that supports the sporting passions of its employees. I am grateful to the Management Board of Grupa Azoty they have agreed to help us carry out this sporting challenge,’ emphasised Wiesław Kotarski, a main originator of the Grupa Azoty Group on the Peaks Mountain Relay Race project.

In preparation for the relay race, the runners took part in a training and team-bonding camp in Murzasichle in early May.

The relay race is scheduled to start on the 3rd of June in Świeradów-Zdrój and end on the 14th of June at 8.30 pm at the Market Square in Ustrzyki Dolne. On the following day, the runners will arrive in Tarnów to join in the Chemist’s Day celebrations.
