Grupa Azoty was among the signatories of a letter of intent to develop Polish ion cell technology, signed at the initiative of the Ministry of Climate and Environment. According to the document, creating a complete and sustainable ion cell value chain relying on domestic raw material resources would help enhance energy security and preserve the strategic competitiveness of the national economy.
The signatories expressed their intent to enter into collaboration, with the goals and terms of the arrangement to be defined in a separate agreement. The document is to be signed by September 30th this year. Among the signatories were state-owned companies and research institutes.
Energy storage is closely linked to proper management of renewable energy. This is key in obtaining green hydrogen through electrolysis, and it is worth noting that Grupa Azoty is considering various aspects of green hydrogen production.
