Grupa Azoty S.A. awarded ‘Tarnów Land Grosz’ in recognition of its community engagement

The headquarters of Grupa Azoty S.A. in Tarnów hosted a meeting between the President of the Company’s Management Board Tomasz Hinc and representatives of the Tarnów region’s authorities and local self-governments. The talks concerned, among other things, the role of Grupa Azoty in supporting the region, promoting its culture, sports and widely defined social responsibility of business.

During the event, the President of the Grupa Azoty Management Board accepted the ‘Tarnów Land Grosz’ award as a token of recognition for the Company’s support of local initiatives and development of the Tarnów County.

The Grupa Azoty Group is one of the leading players on the European fertilizer and chemical markets, while being also the largest employer in the Tarnów region. Having entrenched itself firmly in the industry, the Group is well-positioned to support local communities.

One of the many initiatives in which Grupa Azoty is engaged is its partnership with the Paderewski Centre in Kąśna Dolna, which has cultivated the memory of Ignacy Jan Paderewski, an eminent Polish pianist, composer and Prime Minister, for more than three decades now. The Company also provides regular support to the Centre for Children with Special Educational Needs of Zbylitowska Góra – Dwudniaki.

‘We consider it an immense privilege to be able to support the Tarnów region and its local community. As the region’s largest employer, we are where our help is most needed. The distinction for Grupa Azoty which I have received from representatives of the Tarnów County is a symbol demonstrating that our CSR activities provide real support to the local community. Thank you for today’s meeting. I am confident that we will continue to partner in delivering many important and necessary initiatives,’ said Tomasz Hinc, President of the Grupa Azoty Management Board.

Participants of the talks with the President of Grupa Azoty included: Anna Pieczarka (a Member of the Polish Parliament), Roman Łucarz (Head of the Tarnów County), Jacek Hudyma (Deputy Head of the Tarnów County), Grzegorz Kozioł (Head of the Rural Municipality of Tarnów), Marta Herduś (Mayor of the Town and Municipality of Żabno), Dawid Chrobak (Mayor of the Town and Municipality of Zakliczyn), and Marek Karaś (Head of the Rural Municipality of Rzepiennik Strzyżewski).
