Grupa Azoty S.A. has donated sports equipment to further primary schools, with support provided to almost 40 educational establishments to date

Grupa Azoty S.A. has donated sports equipment worth over PLN 60 thousand to further primary schools in the Tarnów county, including over 500 pieces of sportswear, 500 basketballs, volleyballs and footballs and 500 training bibs.

The initiative marks a new edition of the CSR programme run by the Company to promote sports activity among children and youth.

In February 2022, sports equipment worth over PLN 100 thousand was donated to 21 schools in the Tarnów and Dąbrowa Tarnowska counties.

As part of its CSR strategy, every year Grupa Azoty actively supports culture, amateur and professional sports at the level of local communities, as well as physical activity among children and youth.

‘This is yet another donation of sports equipment from Grupa Azoty to local schools. The Company is an active participant of initiatives intended to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles among children and youth. We are well aware that physical fitness and future success in sports come from hard work and healthy habits fostered from an early age. The donation we have made today is an important and tangible sign of our commitment to corporate social responsibility,’ said Tomasz Hinc, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A.

It is essential that Grupa Azoty supports children and young people in participating in sports activities. The support is not limited to professional sports but extends to amateur athletes in schools and school sports clubs. We should remember small towns are often breeding grounds for top athletes. It is often small clubs in rural areas where the greatest talent and would-be sports stars are born. Our donation of sports equipment will help encourage children to play sports from an early age. It will facilitate physical activity of children and youth while also helping to make the most of the existing local sports infrastructure,’said Anna Pieczarka, Member of the Lower Chamber of the Polish Parliament.
