Grupa Azoty supports schools, this time through sports

Grupa Azoty S.A. has donated sports equipment worth over PLN 100 thousand to 21 primary schools from the counties of Dąbrowa Tarnowska and Tarnów. The Company is thus implementing its new CSR agenda focused on supporting sports activity among children and adolescents.

Within its framework, support has been provided to 8 schools from the county of Dąbrowa Tarnowska and 13 schools from the county of Tarnów, which have received a total of over 1,000 sportswear pieces, 350 basketballs, 300 volleyballs, over 400 footballs and 1,100 training bibs.

As part of its CSR strategy, every year Grupa Azoty supports culture, amateur and professional sports at the level of local communities, as well as physical activity among children and adolescents.

“We are very happy to have launched this and similar projects. We have made a point of supporting physical activity among children and teenagers from local schools, encouraging them to actively participate in their PE classes. Support for local communities is a cornerstone of Grupa Azoty’s sustainability strategy. We provide wide-ranging support to projects focused on culture and sports, with initiatives promoting physical activity among young people seen as a major complement to our wider CSR efforts,” said Tomasz Hinc, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A.

“I am really happy about and I appreciate the initiative taken by Grupa Azoty, headed by its President Tomasz Hinc, to support primary school pupils from the region of Tarnów and Dąbrowa Tarnowska by providing them with much needed sports equipment. This is a very important and valuable form of support. As a sponsor of sports, Grupa Azoty has a long track record of supporting top Polish athletes who are successful around the world, winning medals for Poland. The assistance it has provided to the region’s elementary schools will, above all, help promote the health of pupils, while prompting them to pursue their passions and develop talents. The donation of sports equipment to our pupils is certainly an investment in the future of the youngest generation. Let me thank Mr Tomasz Hinc for this initiative. I thank him not only on my own behalf, but also on behalf of the school principals, teachers and students,” said Wiesław Krajewski, a Member of the Polish Parliament.
