Wojciech Wardacki wins ‘Amber of the Polish Economy 2017’ award
Wojciech Wardacki, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A., has been awarded the ‘Amber of the Polish Economy 2017’ for his consistent and successful efforts to build the image of the Polish chemical sector as safe, innovative and environmentally-friendly. The award winner was selected by the Programme Board of the European Business Centre during the 3rd Polish Economic Summit 2017 held in Siedlce.

Grupa Azoty, the company managed by Wojciech Wardacki, implements ambitious investment plans which open the way for further growth of the Company, its industry and the entire economy. The recent months have also seen further progress in the consolidation process, which has helped streamline the business and markedly improve the financial performance of Grupa Azoty, Europe’s leading fertilizer and chemical group. The ‘Amber of the Polish Economy 2017’ award is presented to individuals, institutions or companies in recognition of their special contribution to promoting growth and security of Poland’s economy both domestically and abroad. The previous ‘Amber of Polish Economy and Power Sector’ award winners include Jarosław Gowin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Higher Education, Krzysztof Tchórzewski, Minister of Energy, Piotr Naimski, Secretary of State at the Prime Minister Chancellery, Government Proxy for Strategic Energy Infrastructure, prof. dr hab. Mariusz Orion Jędrysek, Secretary of State, Chief State Geologist, Government Proxy for National Raw Materials Policy, Ministry of the Environment, Kazimierz Smoliński, Secretary of State, Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction, Ryszard Czarnecki, Deputy Chairman of the European Parliament, and Adam Gawęda, Member of the Polish Senate, the Management Board of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego.
