The Polish Chess Championship began on Wednesday, April 28th. Grupa Azoty joined the tournament as its partner. The event is held under the patronage of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. Grupa Azoty has partnered the tournament as part of its sponsorship strategy to support key sports events in the country.
A leader of the fertilizer and chemical industry in Europe and the largest hydrogen producer in Poland, Grupa Azoty has joined the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance. Launched by the European Commission in July 2020, the Alliance seeks, among other things, to deploy hydrogen as a competitive energy carrier in Europe.
At its meeting held on April 19th 2021, the Supervisory Board of Grupa Azoty S.A. reappointed members of the Company’s Management Board for a new 12th term of office, with effect from May 18th 2021.
In 2020, the Grupa Azoty Group posted consolidated revenue of PLN 10.5bn, delivering EBITDA of PLN 1.3bn, EBITDA margin of 12.6% (unchanged year on year) and net profit of PLN 355m.
Grupa Azoty has been included in the Łukasiewicz Index, which aims to promote listed companies involved in R&D activities. The index portfolio includes companies listed on the WSE’s regulated market and in its alternative trading system (New Connect) which have collaborative ties with the Łukasiewicz Research Network. The list of constituent stocks was announced on April 1st 2021, and the index will be published daily from April 12th.
Applications are now open for Poland’s largest Industry 4.0 accelerator programme. Participation in the KPT ScaleUp programme offers technological startups an opportunity to work with companies like Grupa Azoty. Winners receive a non-repayable grant of up to PLN 200,000 and a training and consultancy package worth up to PLN 50,000.
