In the third quarter of 2022, the Grupa Azoty Group’s financial results were driven primarily by the impacts of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine and an unprecedented rise in prices of natural gas as the key feedstock used in fertilizer production. These factors led to a temporary curtailment in production on some of the Grupa Azoty Group companies’ units in Tarnów, Puławy and Kędzierzyn-Koźle.
The Grupa Azoty Group has successfully passed a certification audit of the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification Plus (ISCC+) system. Having implemented the system, the Group will be able to deliver to its customers certified plastics with a significantly lower carbon footprint, produced from bio-based feedstocks such as biophenol, biocyclohexanone and biocaprolactam.
Gryfilen is new brand name for polypropylene that will be produced by Grupa Azoty Polyolefins S.A.. The company unveiled its new branding during the largest plastics industry trade K fair 2022 in Düsseldorf. The name Gryfilen refers to the historical traditions of the region in which the company operates.
After market conditions changed and a decision was made to resume production at Grupa Azoty S.A. in Tarnów and Grupa Azoty Puławy, the Group has offered its customers new, much lower prices of nitrogen fertilizers.
EIC Procurers Days with Grupa Azoty, an event organised by the European Innovation Council for Grupa Azoty, was held on October 12th and October 13th. During the two-day event, representatives of Grupa Azoty met with European companies offering innovative solutions with the potential for implementation by the Company.
Responding to a change in market conditions, the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A. has resolved to start production at the nitrogen fertilizer, caprolactam and polyamide 6 units in Tarnów as of October 12th 2022.
