Quality Management SystemSee more

The Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001:2015  standards was implemented to increase customer satisfaction through fulfilling their needs and expectations.
Various processes relevant to the Quality Management System were identified in order to take effective action. This is because a process approach ensures ongoing monitoring of links between particular processes in the system, as well as their combinations and mutual interactions. The processes identified are managed by their owners and monitored for effectiveness.

Making products of the quality which meets the growing demands of our clients, as well as facing the challenges of market competition, have been priorities for Grupa Azoty S.A. for many years. A methodical approach to achieving these aims commenced in 1993, with the decision to implement ISO 9000 series standards. This resulted in the granting of ISO 9002:1994 Quality Assurance Certificates by two independent certification bodies, namely: Certificate no. 106 by the Polish Centre for Research and Certification (Polskie Centrum Badań i Certyfikacji) and no. 71766 by Bureau Veritas Quality International in 1997. In the following years, the system was extended to include design services, resulting in compliance with ISO 9001:1994 standards. This was formally confirmed by the same certification bodies in the process of re-certification in 2000. At the same time, work commenced on adapting the existing systems to meet new demands set down by ISO 9001:2000.

Work on the modification of the quality management system was carried out concurrently with the implementation of  the Environmental Management System, which was validated by an ISO 14001 certificate issued by Det Norske Veritas in 2002. This occasion served as an opportunity for the integration of both systems. In January 2003, the Company’s Managing Board instituted the  Management Policy – a declaration regarding the intentions and principles relating to quality, the overall impact on the environment as well as health and safety at work within the Company. Subsequent certification confirming the compliance of the Company’s activities in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 standard was also carried out by Det Norske Veritas. In 2004 this allowed for the introduction of joint supervisory audits. In September 2018 the company's Management Policy was reviewed and amended.

Continual development and improvement of the systems is positively evaluated by external auditors. This is an important aspect of the credibility of Grupa Azoty S.A. in the difficult chemical production market. In April 2017 the certification body DNV GL Business Assurance Poland Sp. z o.o. carried out the recertification audit in the scope of Quality Management System. During the process transfer audit for ISO 9001:2015 took place. As a result it was confirmed that Grupa Azoty S.A. meets the requirements of the above mentioned standard. Further improvements in management systems are implemented with the use of the result of self-assesment conducted according to ISO 9004 standard.

In October 2002, Det Norske Veritas, after carrying out an audit of the environmental management system, awarded the Company a certificate confirming the compliance of the system with the demands of this international standard.  The presentation of this certificate is the result of the consistent implementation of the environmental policy, progressively updated and ultimately transformed into the Management Policy in January 2003 which was updated in September 2018.

The environmental management certificate also serves as confirmation for all clients and partners that the Company meets legal requirements in the area of pollution prevention and also ensures continual organizational improvements.
