Integrated Management Systems

Grupa Azoty S.A. carries out a Management Policy which guarantees, that Company strategic aims are achieved based on an integrate management system in compliance with international standards.
Operational priorities: high quality, care for technical safety and the environment are effectively monitored and ensure effective Company management. The Integrated Management System is built based on the principles of prioritized customer service, minimalizing environmental damage and the risk of threats, as well as continuous improvement.
Management systems are based on the concept of continuous improvement through:

  • defining policy,
  • planning activities to carry out policy,
  • creating conditions for performing planned activities,
  • monitoring the effects of activities,
  • follow-up improvement based on results of regular evaluation.

The Management Policy adopted in the Company defines objectives and principles relevant to all activities, forming a framework for setting and reviewing particular strategic aims relating to quality, the environment, occupational health and safety as well as food safety.

Quality Management SystemSee more

The Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001:2015  standards was implemented to increase customer satisfaction through fulfilling their needs and expectations.
 
Various processes relevant to the Quality Management System were identified in order to take effective action. This is because a process approach ensures ongoing monitoring of links between particular processes in the system, as well as their mutual interactions. The processes identified are managed by their owners and monitored for effectiveness.

Making products of the quality which meets the growing demands of our clients, as well as facing the challenges of market competition, have been priorities for Grupa Azoty S.A. for many years.
 
Continual development and improvement of the systems is positively evaluated by external auditors. This is an important aspect of the credibility of Grupa Azoty S.A. in the difficult chemical production market. 

The compliance of the quality management system with requirements of the 9001:2015 standard is confirmed by a certificate of an independent certification body.

Environmental Management SystemSee more

The environmental management system places m.in emphasis on:

  • protecting the environment by preventing or mitigating adverse effects on the environment,
  • an obligation to comply with relevant legislation and regulations,
  • improving the environmental performance of the activity,
  • informing about the environmental impacts.

The system supports the adopted Grupa Azoty Group Strategy for 2021-2030, which refers to the challenges posed by the European Green Deal for modern industry. Projects in the area of m.in green industrial energy, the need to reduce emissions and decarbonization are presented in the Strategic Corporate Project "Green Azoty", based on 3 pillars:

  • green products,
  • green technologies,
  • green organisation.

Sustainable development, as an objective of action, is achieved by maintaining a balance between the environment, society and the economy.

Environmental aspects occurring in the areas covered by the Environmental Management System are identified.

The compliance of the Environmental Management System with the requirements of the 14001:2015 standard is confirmed by a certificate of an independent certification body.

Energy Management SystemSee more

The Energy Management System in compliance with ISO 50001 supports activities for energy management and improving energy efficiency.

In 2021 the company successfully passed a transfer audit regarding the adaptation of the organization to the requirements of the new ISO 50001: 2018 standard.

 

Food Safety Management SystemSee more

The Food Safety Management System the ISO 22000 was instituted to improve customer satisfaction with products for the food industry through greater fulfillment of their needs and expectations.

While following the guidelines pertaining to the food chain, Azoty Tarnów contributes to the end-consumer's increased health assurance. The Food Safety Policy was adopted in departments manufacturing products used in the food chain.
 
The scope of the certificate: Intake, treatment and distribution of potable water intended for internal and external consumers of water supply system of Grupa Azoty S.A. in Tarnow. Category H. 

Occupational Health and Safety Management SystemSee more

The Occupational Health and Safety Management System compliant with ISO 45001:2018 standard is a result of cooperation between all employees and their engagement. 

Implementing the system will ensure more effective management, ongoing compliance with legal regulations and monitoring occupational health and safety. These activities have a direct effect on measurably limiting losses in this area.
 
In order to ensure ongoing improvement in occupational health and safety, the Company conducts ongoing monitoring of its state and actions taken, as well as the results of relevant activities. These actions allow the effectiveness level of organizational solutions in identifying threats, as well as preventing and limiting occupational hazards to be determined.
 
The planning process includes results of actions taken and documented as evidence of system requirements fulfillment to improve working conditions and occupational safety, as planned by particular organizational units.
 
Monitoring and measuring occupational health and safety guarantees that working conditions, employee behaviors and results of activities taken to improve occupational health and safety are all observed. Particularly, it allows the Company to identify threats, evaluate occupational hazards as well as analyze causes of workplace accidents, occupational diseases and potential accidents.
 
Occupational Health and Safety Management certificate is valid until January 31, 2023.

Enterprise Risk Management systemSee more

Being exposed to a variety of risks, Grupa Azoty S.A. systematically identifies threats associated with different aspects of its business.

It maintains a list of key risks involved in its operations which must be closely monitored. 
 
Grupa Azoty operates a customised, comprehensive and structured enterprise risk management system to assess and manage all uncertainties and risks arising in the course of its operations in the context of the Company's strategy and business processes. 
 
The enterprise risk management process is based on the implementation of such measures as risk identification and assessment, risk level monitoring, and risk reporting.

PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 Management System (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories)See more

Grupy Azoty S.A.'s Specialised Analysis Laboratory meets the requirements of the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard, and has been accredited by the Polish Accreditation Centre (accreditation No. AB 790) for analyses of trace metals in water, wastewater, foods, plastics and plastic products.

The Laboratory is a member of the POLLAB Polish Testing Laboratories Club, which is an active participant of several international organisations, including EUROLAB, EURACHEM, IECEE-CB, ILAC, EA, and IAF.

The Plastic Applications Design and Development Center of Grupa Azoty S.A. has implemented a quality management system compliant with the requirements of the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-02 standard. The Center has an accreditation certificate issued by the Polish Center for Accreditation (PCA) No. AB1907. The accreditation ranges testing of physical properties of plastic and rubber products within a specified scope.

Product Stewardship Management StandardSee more

Grupa Azoty S.A. has implemented a system compliant with the requirements of the Product Stewardship Management Standard (Fertilizers Europe). The Company is committed to taking care of fertilizing products at every stage of their manufacture and has accepted responsibility for the product throughout the entire life cycle of the product, taking into account the impact on safety, health and the environment, as well as the obligation to comply with legal and other requirements relating to fertilizing products.

Production Quality Assurance SystemSee more

Production Quality Assurance System meets the requirements set out in Regulation (EU) 2019/1009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2019 laying down the rules relating to the making available on the market of EU fertilising products, amending Regulation (EC) No 1069/2009 and (EC) No 1107/2009 and repealing Regulation (EC) No 2003/2003 as regards the requirements set out in Annex IV for Module D1.

The first certification audit took place at Grupa Azoty S.A. in 2022 and was carried out by the Polskie Centrum Badań i Certyfikacji S.A. (PCBC S.A.). The audit confirmed compliance of the production quality assurance system at Grupa Azoty S.A. The positively completed certification process enabled Grupa Azoty S.A. use of the CE mark on fertilizer products with the identification number of the PCBC S.A.

The certificate is valid until April 26, 2026.

International Sustainability & Carbon Certification PLUS (ISCC PLUS) systemSee more

The Grupa Azoty Group is advancing its portfolio of certified plastics, all  linked to certified raw materials, using the mass balance approach. The fourth quarter of 2023 saw the Company commence the production and successfully complete the inaugural sale of certified polyamide 6 under the ISCC PLUS scheme. This voluntary scheme is dedicated to promoting bioeconomy and circularity across various sectors of the industry, including plastics. The move towards a portfolio of certified products has been facilitated by the ISCC PLUS certification, which the Company obtained in 2022. These efforts address the challenges identified in the Grupa Azoty Group’s Green Strategy. The ISCC PLUS system enables the Company also to manufacture and market certified products such as: polyamide 6, caprolactam and cyclohexanone. This is achieved through the mass balance approach, which, based on verifiable bookkeeping, attributes an amount of bio-circular, circular, biomass-derived, or other certified feedstocks that are an alternative to fossil raw materials to particular products. This approach also ensures supply chain traceability.

The sustainable products of Grupa Azoty S.A. covered by the certification: polyamide, caprolactam, cyclohexanone.

The certificate is valid from 21.12.2023 to 20.12.2024.

Information Security Management SystemSee more

Grupa Azoty S.A. implemented an information security management system according to the ISO 27001 standard. The implementation of the system allows to manage the information assets held, the infrastructure intended for their processing and the risk related to information security, as well as to prepare the company for related incidents. The scope of the system covers part of the organization and includes Departament Korporacyjny Bezpieczeństwa ICT.

The certificate is valid until October 31, 2025.
